Healthy Frozen Meals

Laurel’s favorite: Any of the meals from Amy’s Kitchen are seriously yummy and satisfying. My favorite is the “Black Bean Vegetable Enchilada”. I wait until they go on sale and stock up my freezer for easy lunches during the work week.

Eat Bananas to Enhance Your Mood

ABS-CBN Interactive reports that the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) said bananas contain natural mood enhancers called tryptophan.  This protein is converted to serotonin which helps you relax, improves mood, and makes you feel happier. Bananas also contain potassium*, fiber, magnesium, and vitamins A, C, K, and B6*.

Love Thy Pineapple

Mark’s Daily Apple writes that pineapple is the only food with natural bromelain (an enzyme group that aids digestion, reduces inflammation and swelling, and speeds healing). These enzymes are helpful for muscle and joint injuries, gout, and  arthritis. Note: Cooking pineapple deactivates the bromelain.
Pineapple is also packed with vitamin C and manganese.

Napa Cabbage
