Dark Chocolate May Reduce High Blood Pressure

Research published in the Archives of Internal Medicine shows that consuming cocoa reduces high blood pressure. News Target writes that researchers from Germany’s University Hospital of Cologne examined five studies on how cocoa affects blood pressure. The flavonoids in cocoa, procyanids, have been linked to reduction of cholesterol and blood clotting.

Soy Nuts Lower Blood Pressure

Women’s Health Magazine reports that a new study in the Archives of Internal Medicine shows that eating soy nuts may significantly reduce blood pressure.  Lead author of the study, Francine Welty, M.D. said that the isoflavones in soy help relax muscles around your blood vessels so your blood can easily travel through.
