Hi everyone! I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving weekend. I had a blast hosting some friends from out of town. We made a big traditional dinner on Thanksgiving day then headed out to eat for the rest of the weekend. We had moules frites (mussels & fries) at my favorite Belgian spot, spicy thai curry and brick oven pizza on the Upper West side, raw organic shakes and falafel down in Union Square, and lots of drinks and snacks at bars all around the city. We also saw a Broadway show, walked around SoHo and Chinatown, browsed a few art galleries, and hit up a couple touristy destinations like Grand Central station and Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center).
It was so good to see my friends, but I am exhausted! Getting off my normal healthy eating routine and running around the city really takes it out of you! At least we got in tons of exercise with all the walking we did. This week I’m back to my regular schedule. I’ve got plans to go to the gym later today and a big salad for dinner with tons of greens. Exactly what I need to get back to feeling normal. Stay tuned for a few exciting posts coming this week. I’ll be reviewing the Tofurky Vegetarian Feast for those of you who are looking for a veggie option during the holidays, discussing sweet potatoes and the low glycemic index, and giving you some healthy holiday gift ideas.
Here’s a picture I took on top of Rockefeller Center. It came out a little blurry, but I love all the colors. It was such a beautiful sunset!

A nice informative post and really liked it. It is really hard to control your mouth during the holiday period and we tend to leave over normal healthy diet and go for the junk foodstuff that our friends have to offer.
Thanks for the post and really appreciate your writing.
