Over the last two years I’ve been having fun trying different superfoods and figuring out how to add them into my daily diet. I recently bought some bee pollen and added it to my morning smoothie. It was really easy to incorporate and soft enough that I didn’t need to soak it before putting it in my blender. Time saver!
Bee pollen, like all superfoods, is a complete source of nutrition. Here are a few of the amazing health benefits (Ref: Superfoods by David Wolfe):
- Alleviates allergy symptoms by reducing histamine production in your body
- Provides a potent source of antioxidants, preventing and treating diseases by neutralizing free radicals
- Increases muscle growth, strength, endurance, speed, and energy (without harmful side effects)
- Strengthens fertility
- Restores minerals in the body and fixes metabolic deficiencies, reversing some symptoms of type 2 diabetes
- Provides a source of 18 vitamins, including almost all B vitamins, vitamins E, D, and C, carotenes, essential fatty acids, and essential amino acids
- Improves digestion of food with 11 naturally occurring enzymes in the pollen
Bee pollen is actually very easy to add into your daily diet. You can add a tablespoon into a smoothie. You can also add a spoonful into cereal or on top of yogurt. Another idea is to spread some honey on top of a slice of bread and sprinkle the bee pollen on top to give it a little crunch. You can also add bee pollen into any cookie or muffin recipe.
Tip 1: If you’re new to bee pollen, start off with a small amount, such as ¼ teaspoon, until your body gets used to it. It’s important to start out with a small dose to avoid digestive irritation or symptoms from a rare allergic reaction. Bee pollen is appropriate for adults and children over the age of 5.
Tip 2: Look for raw or fresh bee pollen at your local health food store to get the most nutritional benefits.

This site is great. This link might be more helpful. You are right, what was I thinking.
Great job and a good theme.
I’ve heard that in order to alleviate allergy symptoms it’s important to make sure the bee pollen you’re ingesting is local to your area. Is that true or will any bee pollen help?
