I made a yummy raw applesauce for breakfast, and it turned out so good that I was heading back for seconds before lunchtime. You can eat this recipe any time of the day, and it’s also a perfect snack for kids. Applesauce has loads of fiber and vitamin C. Plus, the pureed apples, peach, and dates make it plenty sweet so you don’t need to add any sugar.
Many applesauce recipes require you to cook the apples, but I don’t think that’s necessary. I took my apples straight from the refrigerator into my food processor. It tasted so fresh and sweet!
Peach Applesauce

2 apples
1 peach
3 medjool dates
1/3 cup water
Cinnamon (optional)
Soak the dates in a bowl of water in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or more. Drain the water off the dates, remove the pits, and cut them into small pieces. Remove the skins and cores from the apples and cut up into small pieces. Remove the skin and pit from the peach and cut up into small pieces as well. Add the apples, peach, and dates to a food processor or blender and pour 1/3 cup fresh water on top. Process on high until you achieve a smooth texture (about 2 minutes). Serve chilled and sprinkle a little cinnamon on top. Makes about 3 servings.
Tip: I used medium-small organic gala apples to make this recipe, but any sweet apples will do.

That sounds so nummy. I keep thinking about making a raw applesauce, but my body inevitably seems disinterested when I go to make it. Just thinking about adding a peach to the mix makes it sound far more appealing. I can just imagine the texture now… om nom nom. Thank you for sharing the recipe!
Laurel,
This is a great recipe! I had my 6 yo make this for dessert while I was making dinner. I just had her fill the blendtec and ‘blend’. What a great, simple recipe anyone can make.
Would you mind me sharing this with your link on my web page?
