Eat for Strong Fertility

by laurel on June 29, 2010

Did you know that eating healthy keeps your fertility strong? You can add this to your list of reasons to buy those fresh or frozen vegetables when you grocery shop every week. A recent study from the Netherlands found that women who eat Mediterranean diets full of vegetables, fish, legumes, and vegetable oils were 40% more likely to conceive than those who eat less of those foods. Study author Régine Steegers-Theunissen, M.D., Ph.D. recommends that couples who are looking into fertility treatments eat lots of these healthy Mediterranean foods.

The Mediterranean diet is so popular these days that it’s easy to find tasty recipes. Here’s a few I’ve posted in the past to get you started:

Summer Salad with Salmon
15 Bean Soup
Mediterranean Dinner Pasta

Also, check out one of my favorite healthy recipe resources, ChefMD. He has a special section of Mediterranean Diet recipes such as Quinoa Taboulleh.
