Everyone is Finding a Way to Invest in the Fight against Breast Cancer

Throughout the month of October you will see more pink than Paris Hilton has in her wardrobe, but it’s all for a cause well worth supporting. Breast cancer is the most widespread of the cancer groups of with billions of dollars being spent for various treatments and research to find a cure for this fast growing and deadly disease.

This month, NFL teams will be sporting “pink” on their jersey’s, helmets, wristbands and shoes. These pink ribbon/NFL shields will be worn not only by the players, but coaches and staff. It’s a group effort to show the NFL’s support in the fight against breast cancer.

Large companies, such as Avon is hosting its own Walk for Breast Cancer. Sony, Oreck, Macy’s, Target, and big grocery chains are all holding events or raising awareness and money for the cause. Even Campbell’s soup is showcasing pink soup labels this month. Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, American Cancer Society and National Breast Cancer Foundation are just a few of the major foundations you can donate to during this month to support the ongoing fight against breast cancer.

Other ways you can support breast cancer is investing into research companies looking for alternatives to chemotherapy.

Mentor Capital, Inc. (MNTR) and Quantum Immunologics, Inc.bring together $145 million in public financing authorization with leading edge breast cancer immunotherapy now in FDA trials. Instead of enduring mastectomies, chemotherapy and radiation, patients receiving in MNTR / Quantum's patented Oncofetal Antigen (OFA) dendritic therapy process report only flu-like symptoms that naturally follow any immune system activation. OFA has been found on all 500 cancers tested and is not found on healthy tissue. Go pink and check out pink sheets to invest today. breastcancerinvesting dot com.

This month, you can give your time or money. There are several alternatives to help make your mark in the fight against breast cancer.

Limitations of Screening Mammography

An eminent radiologist, Leonard Berlin MD says we have failed to disclose the limitations of screening mammography, namely that mammography will miss 30-70% of breast cancers, and leads to over diagnosis and over treatment.

Dr. Berlin says disclosures of these limitations should be mandated, just like the cigarette and drug warnings that appear on their ads.

Dr. Berlin also points out that 57% of the American women believe that mammograms prevent breast cancer, a misleading message from Breast Awareness Month.

Mammograms are designed to detect cancer, not prevent it. Thinking that a mammogram can prevent breast cancer is like thinking that checking your house annually for broken windows prevents robberies.
