A University of California, Berkeley study found that men who eat the most folate have the healthiest sperm. In other words, men with the highest count of vitamin B9 (folate) had the least risk of sperm with missing chromosomes or extra chromosomes. Folate is crucial in DNA development. Sperm with DNA problems can fertilize eggs that may result in miscarriage or Down Syndrome.
Women’s Health Mag says that men should take a daily multivitamin with 400 micrograms of folate (ref: September 2008 issue, p. 24). Also make sure he gets health servings of folate-rich foods such as romaine lettuce, spinach, asparagus, greens, broccoli, and lentils.

How do they test this if they didn’t actually make babies? I guess a better question is why did they test this and who thought of it.
