10 Inspirational Nutrition Quotes
Today I was feeling a little uninspired. Maybe it’s just the Monday blues, or maybe it’s that all the nutrition news out right now seems like something I’ve read before. I found a few quotes to give me some new inspiration. I hope you like them too!

…“The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition.” -Thomas Edison
...“Our food should be our medicine and our medicine should be our food.” - Hippocrates
…“To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art.” -La Rochefoucauld
…“He that takes medicine and neglects diet wastes the skills of the physician.” - Chinese proverb
…“Unfortunately, everything the experts tell us about diet is aimed at the whole population, and we are not all the same.” -The Scientist magazine

…“Don’t eat anything your great-great grandmother wouldn’t recognize as food. There are a great many food-like items in the supermarket your ancestors wouldn’t recognize as food (Go-Gurt? Breakfast-cereal bars? Nondairy creamer?); stay away from these.” -Michael Pollan, author of The Omnivore’s Dilemma
…“Virtually no one in the field of health and nutrition speaks about the concept of food having energy, but if you stop and think about it, it intuitively makes sense. Vegetables have a lighter energy than proteins. Animal meat from tortured animals has a different energy than meat from animals that lived a peaceful existence.” - Joshua Rosenthal, founder/director of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition

…“Today, more than 95% of all chronic disease is caused by food choice, toxic food ingredients, nutritional deficiencies and lack of physical exercise.” - Mike Adams, author, investigative journalist, educator
…“Diet is the essential key to all successful healing. Without a proper balanced diet, the effectiveness of herbal treatment is very limited.” - Michael Tierra, C.A., N.D.
…“Those who think they have no time for healthy eating, will sooner or later have to find time for illness.” - Edward Stanley

Awesome post, and great advice to keep in mind!!
The processed food and fast food industries are serving it up, Americans are gulping it down, and wide spread obesity and chronic disease is the result. From there, the masses are driven into the “waiting hands” of the highly profitable pharmaceutical industry. We’re offered pills that alleviate our symptoms while the simple underlying causes are ignored.
The ingredients to health, happiness, vitality, and longevity are no secret. Every major non-profit health organization in the world has been offering the same advice for many years. Eat more fruits and veggies, drink more water, exercise on a daily basis, lose weight if you need to, don’t smoke, avoid toxins, & reduce stress.

Great post, Laurel. I’m always amazed at how most doctors try to give us bandaids (typically drugs or surgery) to cover up problems that can be solved through better nutrition or exercise.
Can’t go wrong with this classic: You are what you eat.

Those are great quotes!
I laughed out loud at this one:
Don’t eat anything your great-great grandmother wouldn’t recognize as food. There are a great many food-like items in the supermarket your ancestors wouldn’t recognize as food (Go-Gurt? Breakfast-cereal bars? Nondairy creamer?); stay away from these.” - Michael Pollan, author of The Omnivore’s Dilemma
I truly believe your body is the blueprint of what is going on the inside.
