Brassicas Protect Your Bladder
A research team led by New Zealand’s Agresearch found that natural chemicals in brassica vegetables can reduce your risk of bladder cancer by over 50%. Brassicas are the cabbage family of vegetables that includes cauliflower, brussels sprout, watercress, and broccoli. The team concluded that the chemical compounds in brassicas (isothiocyanates) release enzymes that destroy cancer cells in the bladder.
Over 300,000 people in the world are diagnosed with bladder cancer each year. It’s the fourth most commen cancer for men and the eighth most common for women.
