ChefMD® recently wrote that broccoli is capable of lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol and reducing the risk of heart disease. University of Hawaii research identified a cancer-preventing compound, indole-3-carbinol, in broccoli that is also good for the heart. Indole-3-carbinol (I3C) forms when you eat broccoli and it begins a reaction that reduces the production of harmful lipids such as triglycerides and cholesterol esters.
ChefMD knows that broccoli is a food that many people refuse to eat. He recommends topping broccoli with a little barbecue sauce or making his barbecue broccoli sandwich! I’ve got to try this one.

You would have to consume about a bushel a day.
LOL to the raventx1′s comment.
That’s the problem with alot of these “good for your heart” things. The ones like beer and nuts – it’s hard to have just a little, like they recommend. The ones like broccoli and pinto beans – hard to eat enough to reap the benefits!!!
