Fight Fat with Hot Peppers

Natural Awakenings magazine reports that new research from Taiwan proves capsaicin can reduce the growth of fat cells in your body. If you don’t already know, capsaicin is the natural compund that makes red peppers “hot”. This new research also discovered that capsaicin sets off a biochemical signal in your body that forces fat cells to self-destruct.

I love hot peppers but I don’t buy them on a regular basis. These findings make me want to eat them every day. What meals do you add hot peppers to?

Capsaicin speeds up metabolism. I actually sprinkle cayenne on meat and certain carbohydrates as it is excellent for the venous system and studies show that it prevents glucose spikes in diabetics - although I am not a diabetic.
