Milk Does a Body Good

ChefMD™ writes that a study from the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School shows that pre-menopausal women who consume high amounts of vitamin D and calcium may reduce their risk of breast cancer by 40%. ChefMD™ says the best food sources of vitamin D are dairy products and oily fish such as salmon and tuna.

Finding this research makes me think of those old commercials that said, “milk…it does a body good.” The claim means more today because we know drinking milk helps build strong bones, healthy teeth, soft and shiny hair, AND drastically reduces our risk of life-threatening diseases such as breast cancer.
