Cooking Light Magazine writes that both watermelon and cantaloupe are low in calories and rich in healthy nutrients. While cantaloupe is the star melon when it comes to vitamin C, potassium, and vitamin A, watermelon contains lycopene for protection against some cancers and heart disease. Check out the stats below:

Watermelon (1 cup cubed)

  • Calories: 40
  • Vitamin C: 8 mg
  • Potassium: 115 mg
  • Vitamin A: 25 µg
  • Lycopene: 7.4 mg

Cantaloupe (1 cup cubed)

  • Calories: 54
  • Vitamin C: 59 mg
  • Potassium: 427 mg
  • Vitamin A: 270 µg
  • Lycopene: 0 mg
