Darker Honey, More Antioxidants

Women’s Health Magazine reports on research from the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture that showed honeydew honey has more antioxidants and less sugar than nectar honey.  For the most part, the darker the honey, the higher the antioxidant content.

Rosa Ana Perez, Ph.D., lead researcher of the study, recommends substituting two tablespoons of honeydew honey for sugar in tea and coffee or spreading it on toast.
