Anti-Cancer Broccoli Sprouts
Broccoli is a well-known cancer fighter. But, CancerCommentary.com reports on new research from the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University that shows another compound found in broccoli, sulforaphane, has strong anti-cancer properties. Broccoli sprouts have over 50 times the amount of sulforaphane than mature broccoli. Dr. Emily Ho, a researcher with the Linus Pauling Institute and an assistant professor in the Department of Nutrition and Exercise Sciences at OSU, says that “the compound in broccoli may be one of the strongest anti-cancer fighters we have.”
You can find brocooli sprouts in the produce section next to alfalfa sprouts.
