EatingFabulous.com reports that onions contain an antioxidant, quercetin, that helps fight cancers of the colon, esophagus, mouth and throat, breast, ovary, prostate, and kidneys. Quercetin also has anti-flammatory and antihistamine effects which help relieve problems such as arthritis, prostasis, and fibromyalgia. Onions also have a great source of chromium which is important for fighting off diabetes and heart disease.
