A recent CNN article said that a new study from the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows that “healthy women who drank upwards of six cups of coffee per day were no more likely than abstainers to develop high blood pressure over the next decade.” For the men studied, “the risk of high blood pressure did not significantly increase or decrease, regardless of how much coffee they drank each day. However, men who abstained did have a lower risk than any coffee drinkers.”

This study may help ease concerns for some people who experience short-term raises in blood pressure from the caffeine in coffee. The lead author of the study, Dr. Cuno S.P.M. Uiterwaal, said that “studies have failed to show that [coffee drinking] actually raises the risk of heart disease in healthy people.”

was just reading an article before I found this one called Drinking Coffee is a Health Lifestyle Choice,” that made some excellent points on the benefits of coffee drinking. I suggest reading it.
