More Fruits and Veggies = Cancer Prevention

Women’s Health Magazine reports that eating five to nine servings of fruits and vegetables a day is a healthy defense against cancer.  RealAge.com’s Chief Science Officer Dr. Axel Goetz recommends eating a variety of produce to get the best benefit because, “the more colorful ingredients you eat, the greater the preventive effect.”

Women’s Health says that one serving of produce = one piece of fruit, 1/2 cup cooked or raw vegetables, or 1 cup raw leafy greens.

    Thank you for the reminder and keep spreading the word! Those who eat five to nine servings of fruits and vegetables have only half the risk of cancer as those who eat one to two. Increasing intake seems a simple way to help deal with the impending crisis of a shortage of oncologists projected for the year 2020! Thanks!
