MSNBC.com reports that a new study shows that pregnant women who eat more than 2-3 servings of fish a week, may improve their child’s IQ and motor skills. The results were surprising because American and British recommendations have previously recommended limiting fish intake while pregnant to avoid high mercury levels. In response to the study, Dr. Gary Myers and Dr. Philip Davidson from the University of Rochester Medical Center said the results, “highlight the importance of including fish in the maternal diet and lend support to the popular opinion that fish is brain food”.
