Organic Foods Low-Down
Women’s Health Magazine researched which organic foods are worth the extra money because they are actually safer, better tasting, and/or more nutritious than the conventionally prepared foods. Women’s Health listed the following foods that are worth going organic for based on pesticides, antibiotics, nutrition, and taste:
- Fruits: apples, pears, grapes, raspberries, peaches, strawberries, cherries, nectarines
- Vegetables: sweet corn, potatoes, celery, bell peppers
- Meats: ground beef, pork, chicken
- Dairy: yogurt, cheese, milk
- Wine
To save money, go conventional with:
- Fruits: papayas, pineapples, bananas, mangoes, kiwis
- Vegetables: cauliflower, avocados, snow peas, broccoli, asparagus
- Bread, pasta, cookies
